Charity Stray Bonfire - Saturday 4th November 2017 from 6pm. Saturday 4th November 2017 saw Harrogate Round Table back as as organisers of the Harrogate Stray Charity. The Stray tells the true story of how a stray dog. “The reality is that there are no perfect families,” said President, Second Counselor in the First Presidency. “Whatever problems your is facing, whatever you must do to solve them, the beginning and the end of the solution is charity, the pure love of Christ.” Of those who are not participating fully in the gospel, Linda K. Burton, former General President of the Relief Society, said: “Heavenly Father loves all His children. No matter where they are—on or off the path—He wants them back home.” “However wayward [your children] might be, when you speak or talk to them, do it not in anger, do it not harshly, in a condemning spirit,” taught President Joseph F. Smith (1838–1918). “Speak to them kindly.” Elder Brent H. Nielson of the Seventy reiterated the Savior’s instruction to those who have 10 pieces of silver and lose one: “Search until you find it. When the lost one is your son or your daughter, your brother or your sister, after all we can do, we love that person with all of our hearts. “May you and I receive the revelation to know how to best approach those in our lives who are lost and, when necessary, to have the patience and love of our Father in Heaven and His Son,, as we love, watch, and wait for the prodigal.” President, First Counselor in the First Presidency, said: “I have prayed with faith that someone I loved would seek and feel the power of the Atonement. I have prayed with faith that human angels would come to their aid, and they came. “God has devised means to save each of His children.” Additional Scriptures and Information;;; Faith Family Relief.

Of late many of us have been enthralled with the heavily reported. As the day nears and the conversations with friends and family grow more pointed and urgent the need for recap and introduction becomes more important. We intend to have more Left Behind letters on Unsealed, but here is a good primer. There is much in prophecy, in the precision of creation and the precision of the Word that screams that God is who He says He is. Unsealed provides just a very light and sparing overview of a few highlights. I have provided a link or two, but for each point below there is much more material available from many different sources of wide and varied backgrounds. At Jesus' first appearing there were many prophecies (proclamations about what will happen in the future) fulfilled. This topic has been widely written about over the centuries and different prophetic accountings have been provided, but essentially something like 60 prophecies were fulfilled and referenced in roughly 300 different passages. Chief among these was the Daniel 9 prophecy, that foretold the exact date of Christ's triumphal entry into Jerusalem 483 years prior - Another favorite can be found in, explained by the highly esteemed Dr. Chuck Missler. In addition to the 300, there are a host of others not specific to the Messiah's first appearing. Everything from Joseph's fulfilled dreams to Judah's return from Babylon after 70 years in captivity. There are over eight times as many prophecies about what is still to come and they have much to say about right now. The big prophetic stumble. Many in Christendom have choked by this point (if they even made it this far). 'No one knows the day or the hour,' they cry, and they're stopped dead in their tracks. Would that they would study the prophets. Frustrating that they will not read, will not study and will not suffer anyone who would try to tell them what's in the book. If this is you, these verses may help. Jesus' words to Nicodemus in are a reminder. He was the elder statesman and perhaps the most revered man in his time, yet he didn't get it. Don't be too discouraged Nicodemus, your peers didn't get it either. Of course they should have read, studied and known what to watch for, but they didn't. (NASB) Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near. (NASB) But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day would overtake you like a thief; for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness; so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober. (NASB) So remember what you have received and heard; and keep it, and repent. Therefore if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come to you. (NASB) Surely the Lord God does nothing u nless He reveals His secret counsel t o His servants the prophets. [We should be those who see, who are aware, who are watching and who are awake.] He intends for us to see. He always shares knowledge freely for those who hunger and thirst to know Him. (NASB) But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. No one knows the day or the hour (NASB) “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone. This verse may be the most misunderstood in all of the Bible and the cause of many to stop and look no further. Christ didn't say that you can't know anything about the time of the end. He didn't say that you can't know what will happen or what to look for and so don't try. He just told us in the preceding verse that He expects we will know. God's appointed days - The Moedim Some background from and for deeper study - see more from. God has 7 appointments on His annual calendar that are elevated and holy. • 3 in the spring • 1 in the early summer • 3 in the fall Christ fulfilled the first 3 at His first appearing. • Passover - Christ was the once for all perfect sacrificial lamb. Once for all - sin was paid. He died at 3 pm on Passover, just as the lambs were being slaughtered for sin. Tetelestai 'it is finished' were the words of Christ. No longer is the sacrificial system needed. Once for all paid in full. It is finished indeed. • Unleavened bread - Yeast is alive. During the Exodus the Jews were instructed to bake unleavened (no yeast) bread. Flat - baked - dead. Jesus was flat - crucified - dead (unleavened) in the tomb. And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. Anonymous Blood Moon - yes, the apocrypha and other non-canonical books are the one of the main reasons for debate between catholics and prots/pentecostals etc. The RCC church believes they are part of the canon, and we say 'no way hos'e' (how do you spell that in Spanish!). The truth is that they are somewhere in between. Most good scholars see apocryphal 1 and 2 Enoch, 1 and 2 Maccabees and the Book of Jasher as supplemental historical information, most of which has verified authenticity, although aspects have been shown to be added to some of the writings that may be considered gnostic (e.g., two chapters in Enoch). While non-canonical and thus not a basis for doctrine, they are amazing additional pieces of info that give proof of the historicity of events taking place. Out of all the apocryphal books, 1 and 2 Enoch have been verified the most through dead sea scroll findings. Regarding 'no one knows the day or hour,' (brilliantly debunked already anyway) I recently realized that a Jew (Jesus) was talking to Jews (his disciples) before the rapture mystery had been revealed to Paul. The disciples would not have known to ask about a rapture, only a Second Coming. Therefore the day-or-hour could not be talking about the rapture, can it? But the return to Mt. Of Olives as described in Zechariah? Therefore there is not a viable claim in Scripture that 'no one knows the day or hour' of the rapture. It's a completely different event. Anonymous Agree. Rev 3:3 as you have noted in the article is also brilliant. 'So remember what you have received and heard; and keep it, and repent. Therefore if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come to you.' If we flipped that second part of the verse around (wrote it in the antonym.if that is the right word to use), it might read like 'Therefore, if you do wake up, I will not come like a thief, and you will know at what hour I will come to you'.however that could be scripturally problematic, as it could refer to the identification of his coming, when he comes, rather that knowing it before hand.interesting to consider however. What has been taught concerning the Rapture and the second coming throughout the centuries has been wrong and backwards in many cases, I believe that what has been taught about not knowing the day or the hour is also backwards and wrong. People are always referring to the rapture, when Christ is clearly referring to his second coming. In the Gospels, Jesus is talking to the people of Israel. He answered, 'I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.' Matthew 15:24 In John, Jesus is talking about the rapture. John 14:2-3 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. Please notice he never said anything about not knowing the day or the hour. In Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 17 & 21, Jesus is talking to his disciples about his second coming. When He talks, for example, about two men in a field, one is taken and the other is left, He's not talking about the rapture even though it sounds like he is. Check this out: The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind: Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away. So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Matthew 13:41-42, 47-50 In this passage Christ is talking about his angels going out and removing the wicked from the earth at his second coming, two will be in the field one will be taken and the other left. And they answered (Jesus disciples) and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together. Luke 17:37 KJV In this verse they are asking where the wicked are removed to. You have to make a distinction between the second coming and the rapture. I hear very few people making that distinction. In the Gospels, except for the Book of John chapter 14, Jesus is talking about His second coming. In 1st Thessalonians 4, 2nd Thessalonians 2, and 1st Corinthians 15, Paul is talking about the rapture. Take notice that Paul says nothing about not knowing the day or the hour of the catching away of the body of Christ and we can clearly see that Revelation 12 which is clearly talking about the rapture will be fulfilled on September 23 2017 at Twilight Jerusalem time when the last Trump is blown at the end of the Feast of trumpets. And since it perfectly coincides with the Feast of trumpets, it reinforces this argument. Now here is my argument about not knowing the day or hour of the second coming of Christ. Firstly, Christ was talking to the Jews, the remnant of Israel, the ones that remain on the earth at the end of the tribulation before his second coming, before Christ comes to defeat his enemies. He sends his angels to remove the wicked from among them. Now why would his second coming have to be a secret? Think about it, the best strategy in war is surprise. Christ is coming to conquer, to defeat his enemies. Daniel talks about a war in the heavens against the angels and the Prince of Persia. Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia. Daniel 10:12-13 KJV Keeping that in mind, Christ knows that the best strategy is to keep that last battle a surprise so that the enemy does not have a chance to prepare for it and try, feeble as it may be, to stop Christ from returning to earth to defeat them. I understand that some of this subject to the interpretation of Scripture, but please, study this for yourself. Anonymous My question is 1.) if this rapture rescue does not occur, or does not occur this Sept/Oct, and you believe the 70th week starts this year, what would be, if not the rapture, the instigator or trigger for the tribulation then? 2.) What makes you so sure that this thing of a rapture was not misunderstood, and really means that believers will be physically taken off the planet and not some other thing? 3.) Does a time frame of let us say 2022-2029 also make sense for the 70th week? If not, why not? Anonymous as i see it, your? Question is a 'good' question and this is something that makes me go back to realizing that according to scripture, we are see'n thru glass darkly - bottom line. I also say to myself its Who you know, more so than what you know, therefore Jesus is our Good Shepard and He IS truthfully our first love and our hearts desire - the answer. We TRUST HIM more than anything! Now w/ that said let me say this.i am just a visitor here on this wonderful site and not a spokesperson for it. I trust that the Lord Jesus Christ has our back always. I truly have seen strong cases put forth on things of this nature that did not unfold exactly as we thought or expected or soo hoped for and i am still here believing and Trusting Our Good Shepard, committing my spirit into His Loving Hands. I will be forever praying for escape/being accounted worthy[Luke 21:36] and i will KEEP LOOKING UP* tony in vt. Shalom my anonymous friend. Anonymous Its a valid question, and you will find on this site those that believe in a pre-trib rapture (majority), those who believe in a mid trib (myself.intra-seal we call it), with some who are in the post-trib camp. We could all wax lyrical about why we believe what we believe and quote all our favourite teachers - Chuck Missler (pre), Arnold Fructenbaum (pre), Jacob Prasch (mid), Joel Richardson/Mark Davidson (post) etc to back up our points. The key thing is to be watching! However, depending on your perspective, the event that will start Daniels 70th week is either the rapture, or the signing (or strengthening) of the covenant with 'the many' by the AC. Note - if you read the above mentioned authors books (Fructenbaum and Prasch are particularly in-depth), they will differ in terms of the meaning of 'Daniels 70th week', the 'day of the Lord', and the 'time of Jacobs trouble'. All books by these authors are worthwhile reading (and you get the added bonus of hearing both sides of the camp on whether it will be a roman or islamic Anti-Christ) Ryan D. That's a good question. I do think he was, but I believe this passage is not talking about leaving Believers behind, but those who are Christian-in-name-only. In other words, there will be a partial rapture of professing Christians, but not a partial rapture of those who genuinely believe in the Gospel, so if you trust in Christ alone and believe He died for your sins and rose again, I don't want you to fear. Be encouraged and rest in Him. The question is, which Christians are Christian-in-name-only? The answer is those who do not believe in the good news of the Gospel. Legalists will have you believe that you will be left behind if you struggle with sin or haven't 'overcome enough'. They are lying deceivers and do not even live up to their own standard. The legalists and the lawless will be left behind for the exact same reason: failure to submit to God's righteousness through faith in Christ ALONE (Romans 10). They both deny the Gospel in the same place: that Christ died for our sins (see 1 Cor. We've written a lot about this subject, which will hopefully be encouraging to you: http://www.unsealed.org/2016/09/what-is-repentance.html. People get the Rapture and Second Coming mixed up. This has been expounded upon by many. Likewise people get Salvation and the Rapture mixed up. Compare Matthew 7:13-14 with John 3:16 and 2 Peter 3:9, then with Revelation 7:9-10 and Revelation 7:14-15. How many people do you know in churches who are cold--anti-God? Not many.they are abundant, but most of them don't want to go to church. How many are hot? If they ARE hot, are they not 'watching', since Jesus told them to over and over, and the events to the day also shout to 'the wise' to WATCH, because now is the time? But only FEW are watching. I do not mean few in the Church, or few in the U.S., but few in any local church in any area. Hard to find more than a few in any area. But to those of you that assume that ALL these good people in church are not saved, even though they have confessed Jesus as their Lord and believe in their hearts that God has raised Him from the dead, you are twisting Scripture to make things fit your theology. He told the Laodicean Church He would spit them out! What is nearly always true of those who confuse the Rapture with Salvation is that they think Jesus said only the few are going to heaven, and the many are all going to hell. That is NOT what He said! Read it carefully. He said the few are on the way which leads to life. In all of history, no one goes to heaven EXCEPT by their body being destroyed to the point that it can no longer support life ('they die'--their body does). The exceptions (maybe) are Enoch and Elijah. Why do I say 'maybe'? Because they may be the 2 witnesses in the Tribulation, in which case they also die (bodies get destroyed to the point that they cannot remain in them). What about those on the 'broad way'? Jesus did NOT say they are going to hell, like people are so sure He said. He said 'destruction'. Their bodies will die. 'So are you say they are all going to heaven?' IF they are saved, they are going to heaven. If not, they are going to hell. I know it's VERY hard to change what you have thought for so many years, just as 'the day and the hour' and 'doctrine of imminency' for so many of us. Remember Jesus said 'I wish that you were hot or cold'. Jesus WILL GET that 'wish' (as is usually translated--I think 'desire' is a better translation). When the mark of the beast is required to buy or sell, and people by refusing it have no ability to get food or perhaps keep their homes--they have chosen starvation and unknown harm rather than take the mark. THEY ARE NO LONGER 'lukewarm'!!! Others take the mark. They are also no longer 'lukewarm', but ice cold towards God! In the Tribulation, 'lukewarm' is VERY QUICKLY destroyed! They become the 'great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation.' Consider one more verse, often quoted on this site: Revelation 3:3 '.hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch.' Much has been said about 'if you will not watch', but very little about 'repent'. We think of weeping, wailing, and being terribly sorry for a wrong committed. That can be the case. But not always--it ALWAYS means 'to turn, change your thinking or way'. Even when we are truly submitted to the Lord, we still have to change our thinking from time to time. Sorry, I left out something: regarding the 'few' on 'the way that leads to life'--that is the Rapture. It is NOT that only a 'few' get SAVED!!! If you believe that, then you don't believe Revelation 7 (quoted above--the multitude too large for ANY MAN to count who are saved.out of the Tribulation). It is the 'few' that go 'the way that leads to life'--go to heaven without dying ('destruction' of their bodies to the point that life is unsustainable therein). The Rapture--the ONLY ones going to heaven without dying! Anonymous I think he is partly right, but to declare 'asking Jesus into your heart' is akin to apostasy.sorry, but that is a misleading statement. Ironically enough, the apostles had a number of ways of addressing the gospel and salvation. 2 Corinthians 6:16 notes that we are the temple of the living God - so I guess 'Jesus does come and live in us'. And on the blood. Does Acts 2 - that great chapter on Pentecost note anything about the blood. Nope - He talked about Jesus being raised from the dead, being made Lord. Peter then followed that up with 'Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit'. And in Acts 3 Peter commanded them to 'repent and return.' Acts 17: 30 “Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all everywhere should repent'. So does that make anyone who only declares on youtube that we need to preach on the blood according to Romans 3, an apostate - as they are not declaring a complete gospel?? OF COURSE NOT!!! Just like most people I have heard evangelising do not simply say 'ask Jesus into your heart', but they tell them about the blood of Christ having to be spilled as punishment in our place, they tell them that Jesus lived a sinless life, died on the cross and rose again on the third day, conquering death. They tell them to repent and believe, by faith, in the saving grace of God, and to walk in obedience to what Christ has done. The apostate is one who gives 'an easy gospel'. One who 'confesses me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me'. I agree asking for forgiveness is probably not the best prayer language, although I'd be careful this is the very language Christ used in His model prayer. The perfect prayer language and perfect understanding won't save you. Let's simply be grateful. Not directed at this reply in particular, but step back and read the many replied and themes emerge of trying to pray right, act right, believe right - few are important. We were not tasked with posturing well before the HOLY ONE, but being grateful, humble and making disciples. Unfortunately few come here with hallelujah and help me make disciples, but with offers of how we in our flesh can understand better, live better and generally please God better. It is finished! Iron sharpens iron. I just shared this because I have not seen this before. And we have not been using Luke 17:3 in my family, and I am so overjoyed that I love to share it. We have had some misconceptions in my family on how you receive Gods promises. Before we learned about the atonement of Christ we thought you had to make a request. Now we have repented(feel sorry and changed our minds) about how forgiveness is received. The Holy Ghost convicts(rebuke), I feel sorry(repent), thank You Lord for Your forgiveness( receive). The first step is God's, 2nd step is mine, third step is God's. Praise the Lord I don't have to beg for forgiveness when I do something wrong. I love you guys, love seeing being able to converse, share, and sharpen each other, thank you for all of that! Anonymous In researching the coming solar eclipse, I looked up the Torah scriptures to be read at that time. The Torah scriptures are in a cycle and of course were not scripted with the eclipse in mind. Therefore, only the Lord who holds all things together could orchestrate this. Here is what I discovered: God warned that a nation is not to shed innocent blood. (Deuteronomy 19:10). We read in Deuteronomy 21:1-9, that God is aware of all innocent blood that is shed. We read that if we are made aware of this and confess we did not see or observe the shedding of innocent blood, then God will forgive those connected to the guilty nation. However, God says that the nation itself must remove the guilt of innocent blood. God's Word offers no justification in shedding the blood of the innocent. The US government sells more weapons around the world than the rest of the world combined! War is profitable to the tune of 100's of $billions! America could easily be called the 'Lord of War' as she has profited more than any other nation through continuous wars and blood shed. Innocent blood includes the 50 million unborn children aborted in America and child trafficking that reaches to the highest levels in our society. Congressman Trey Gowdy has recently expressed utter shock as to how pervasive his committee has discovered the child trafficking problem just in the DC area is! On August 21, 2017, a total solar eclipse will stream across America as it's shadow is going to 'cut' America in half from coast-to-coast. And the Torah reading for this day?.' You shall remove the guilt of innocent blood from your midst, when you do what is right in the sight of the Lord.' (Deuteronomy 21:9) This is not a coincidence. Anonymous They ask: 'Are you at Unsealed.org REALLY sure it is this year in 2017?' List of Prerequisites to Jesus' Return Should not these happen first? So, what are these prerequisite events? Here are several examples starting with the first event to come: Psalm 83/Isaiah 17 War - Damascus Destroyed — Rather than the rapture, the next event in prophecy is a swift war in the Middle East between Israel and many of her Arab/Islamic neighbors. You do not need a Bible to tell you this as many secular sources expect one, due to the tensions between Israel and the Arabs and Iran (not Arab, but Persian). The concern over Iran's nuclear program has only added to this. The outcome of this war will be the destruction of Damascus and several other major Arab cities and regions, along with much devastation in Israel. Obviously, the attack has still not happened because Damascus remains a city to this day. The Sixth Seal/Wormwood — If you read Revelation 6:12-17 carefully you will see that it depicts the entire population panicking and running for cover in response to signs in the heavens and a tremendous global earthquake on earth moving every mountain and island out of place. It is obvious that nothing like this has happened since the first century when it was written and when knowledge of the Lamb of God (named by those panicking: Rev 6:16) has arrived. By the way, this event is the very 'sign of the end' that Jesus told his followers to watch for (Mt 24:7-8=Lk 21:10-11=Joel 2:30-32=Rev 6:12-17). God's end time escape instructions shared by Jesus, Joel and Revelation would then play out for the faithful.) Third Temple — Several passages describe a Third Temple on the Temple Mount with sacrifices going during the Great Tribulation (Rev 11:1-2; Mt 24:15; 2The 2:3-4). The Antichrist is even described as sitting in this end time temple as part of his declaration of himself as God (2Th 2:4). Obviously, there is as yet still no temple or even a construction project under way for one, nor sacrifices yet. Speaking of the construction, some say that everything is already being prepared for this temple and it can go up fast, in less than a year. Even if that's true, under the current political situation they still could not break ground on the Temple Mount without the Arabs approval or a strong belligerent response of opposition. The Arab control and power needs to be broken first, and that is not going to happen without a war, probably the future Psalm 83 war as above. Abomination of Desolation — The Great Tribulation starts 30 days (as in the 1290 - 1260 days) after the Abomination of Desolation is stood up on the Temple Mount (Mk 13:14). The abomination refers to the Image of the Beast statue being erected for worship (Rev 13:14). At the same time the Third Temple sacrifices are halted by the Antichrist. This is another unfulfilled prophecy as only the Antichrist can accomplish this and he is not here yet. Great Tribulation — This is the most obvious and well-known one. According to Daniel 9:27 = Matthew 24:21, Jesus must return after a period of 'Great Tribulation.' During this Great Tribulation, the Antichrist will rule over the world for 42 months (Rev 13). He will force all the unsaved (Rev 13:8) to take a mark in their right hand or forehead during that time. Plainly, we are not in the Great Tribulation and no mark of the beast has been issued yet. The Rapture — Finally the rapture comes after the Great Tribulation, but clearly not to save anyone from any threat on earth as Christians suppose its purpose is. It arrives right on time for the faithful to be 'rewarded' (Rev 11:18) with glorified eternal bodies (1Co 15:52) so they can then rule for the entire 1000 year Millennial Reign along with those in the first resurrection (Rev 20:4-5). We are not saying nor have we said that we know the year, date or hour. We are saying the signs of the Lord's soon return are everywhere, time is very very short and we all must be about our Fathers business. We are also saying and as best as we can understand September 23rd 2017 strongly aligns with the prophesied Revelation 12 and the Micah 5 rapture description. In any other area of life you would say that we know this beyond a reasonable doubt, but God's word and will are held to the highest standard and so we cannot and will not say this is it, though I am convinced in my heart. As for Psalm 83. This seems to describe the 6 day war. Damascus is about toast. Can't imagine another few years of that bombed out berg holding on. The rest will have during the 7 year tribulation. Blessings Greg. Anonymous Greg, I agree with all you have written wholeheartedly. Just an interesting observation for you. When you read through the Bible, you can see God working in certain patterns. Take the story of Joseph. Through a dream God showed Pharaoh that there would be be 7 years of harvest, followed by by 7 years of famine. Now we know there will be a final 7 year period before Jesus returns, so could it be that there will be a 7 year period of harvesting souls, the likes of which the world has never seen before, followed by a 7 year period of great distress, the likes of which the world has never seen before, when evangelism will be incredibly difficult? If so, then potentially, and I mean potentially here, 2017 -2023 could be the most explosive time for evangelism the world has ever seen, and 2024 – 2030, could be the tribulation. And wouldn’t it be fitting if Jesus did return in 2030, as this would be more or less exactly 2000 years after leaving this earth? If so, we’ve only got 14 years left on this planet. @Artiprinted: 'Yep, and the peace negotiations are not being done by politicians this time, it is realestate moguls, God has really been putting everything into place.' Wow, can you elaborate on this? I ask because as I was doing my own study in Daniel and creating some notes about a timeline, counting back and forward with the Sept. 23 date and some of the numbers in Daniel, I found something from February 2017 that would potentially fit a timeline, and 'Confirm a covenant with many' but I wasn't sure if it could apply. But it does have to do with settlements, so your Realestate moguls comment grabbed my attention. @ Blood Red Moon: There is discrepancy in the gregorian calendar, discrepancy in the Jewish calendar. What do we use? Let's use the sun, moon, and stars. Which are unaffected by sin and even better, untouched by humanity. So the Rev12 sign occurred in 3915 BC. Let's just say this was the creation year, and the world was birthed. This puts us not quite at 6000 years of humanity, right? I would assume God uses 360 day years for a reason, not just because the numbers round nice. Let's just say God uses those days for a year, because that's how He created the world. And then, let's just say that the global flood was in 1656 AM as calculated here (AIG) - And, I would think it is safe to assume that the opening of the fountains of the deep and the floodwaters in the sky had something to do with wobbling the earth around so that we somehow ended up with 365.25 day years. It may have taken a bit to settle down, the land wasn't divided until the days of Peleg a bit later on, but let's use the year 1656 AM and guess that things settled down to balance out to 365.25 days/year quite quickly. Which means we've existed for an extra 5.25 days per year since the global flood. But if our allotted days are 6000 years, what if we take into account the 'extra' days? 3915 - 1656 = 2259 years BC + 2017 years AD - 1 (no year 0) = 4275 years lived with 'extra days' 4275 x 365.25 / 360 = 4337 360-day-year equivalent years since the flood 4337 (post flood) + 1656 (preflood) = 5993 years. Just in time to tack on another 7. Oh, and remember that the Rev 12 sign occurs in Sept/Oct, so the calculation would be to the very day according to the sun, moon, and stars. Not provable. But there's something for you to chew on. Thank you for the link. Yes, the seal part was fascinating, and the unfertilized egg part was so sad:(. I watched the Passion of the Christ a few weeks ago and was just dumbstruck how much God loves us and how mean humanity was back. He really gives us every opportunity and although many follow Him, many more are lost. I can't think about how much that hurts His heart.:( Scottie is doing some great vids these days. I posted about the 1000 yr days. I'm just small peanuts (1-2 views a day, homeschooling plain Jane mama), so be kind, lol: https://redmoonrapture.wordpress.com/2017/06/30/gods-prophetic-timeline-7000-years-of-humanity/. Iforgot to even write what I came here for. Re: Scottie's clip. Just read Romans 8:22-23, 'For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the FIRST FRUITS of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we WAIT EAGERLY for ADOPTION as son's, the REDEMPTION of our BODIES' First fruits of the Spirit - conception Redemption of our bodies -adoption (birth / deliverance) This seems to strongly support what Scott was saying. Greg, What a wonderful piece. With so much detail about the Lords coming it saddens me to see so much unbelief. I reminded of Luke 18 where our Lord gives a parable about an avenger who believed not God but did his duty because he was weary of a widow. My friends when God comes to avenge his own elect, it will be quickly. Only those that have faith will escape. Luke 18:7-8 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? Read Next Chances are the pooping facility nearest you is a sitting toilet, a relatively recent invention that flushed its way into mankind's heart with the advent of indoor plumbing in the 19th century. Indoor plumbing has turned out pretty well for the most part, but the pooping style that came with it definitely has not. Pooping on a modern sitting toilet is a big part of and it can also cause an age-related condition that pretty much only occurs in parts of the world where sitting toilets are used, and which can lead to a range of pleasantries up to and including colonic obstruction. And things aren't getting better: The last few decades have seen a rise in popularity of 'comfort height' toilets that sit two to four inches higher off the ground than older models and that make our pooping predicament even worse. Getty Future toilets will exist just to kill us. So how the hell are we meant to do it? Luckily, there's a relatively simple way to end this poop dilemma. A 2003 study observed 28 people pooping in three positions: sitting on a high toilet, sitting on a lower one and squatting like they were catchers at a baseball game (catcher's mitt optional, but encouraged). After initially being mistaken for a German porn company, the researchers found that pooping took about a minute less and that participants rated the experience as 'easier' (God, we hope they were getting paid). In fact, toilets that require you to squat that way have been the standard and are still widely used in the non-Western world. Getty And urban centers of the Western world. 'We were not meant to sit on toilets, we were meant to squat in the field.' When you're in a sitting or standing position, you're forming an angle between the where the poop is and where the poop's gotta come out. There's even a muscle that's purpose is to tighten things up when we're sitting or standing to prevent accidents. Squatting straightens out this angle and removes the chokehold. Getty For no reason, here's an icing pipe. If the thought of squatting awkwardly on top of your toilet seat isn't for you, you can produce a similar poop-enhancing angle by resting your feet on a footstool (or anything handy) and leaning the top half of your body forward. Getty Demonstrated here. As it turns out, showering or bathing daily, while it may make us more socially acceptable, wreaks havoc on something hilariously called the horny layer. Hot water, soap and abrasive surfaces strip off the horny layer, exposing living cells to the elements. And although we've just used the words 'strip,' 'exposing' and 'horny' in the same sentence, we assure you that this is not the making of a sexy situation. On the contrary, damaging this protective layer of skin makes us more susceptible to disease. Via Sexy disease. Studies have shown that there are no measurable differences in the number of microorganism colonies a person is host to regardless of how frequently that person showers. Of course, using antibacterial soaps can kill microorganisms, though in an effort not to create too many super bacteria, medical experts generally recommend not Getty 'Say what you like, but you have to admit my bones are super shiny!' So how the hell are we meant to do it? The most important thing to do to keep the skin healthy is to preserve the horny layer. There's no magic number of showers each week, though it's generally agreed that the number would fall somewhat shy of seven. Skipping showers, or, if you'd like a fancy French term, celebrating sans douche days, gives your skin time to repair some of the damage that the last shower caused. Getty Any more than a day and there's no amount of French that'll get rid of Eau de Sewer. When you shower, use warm or cool water and a mild soap (if at all), and rehydrate the horny layer by rubbing on some moisturizer afterward. Better yet, convince an attractive friend to help with this. Once you've cleaned up, you'll want to make sure you air dry. Ignore protesting roommates or family members and remind them, as you're drip-drying at the breakfast table, that they should be grateful you're showering only a couple of times a week. Getty 'Kids, ignore your father while I try to remember why I married him.' Congratulations: Chances are that if you're reading this, and you're not a ghost, you've managed to figure out breathing. On the other hand, chances are you're also doing it wrong. IStockphoto You're also suddenly aware that you're breathing now. Take a deep breath right now. If you're anything like most people, you raised your shoulders a little and puffed out your chest like a pigeon in heat. You probably don't see anything wrong with using your chest to breathe, since after all, that's where your lungs are. What the hell else are you going to use? Well, smartass, it turns out that the muscle you're supposed to use to breathe, your diaphragm, is under your lungs and closer to your belly. Via Shown here as the white mass on the bottom of this X-ray of Tom Cruise (may not actually be Tom Cruise). When upright, most people are habitual chest breathers: We use a shallow form of respiration that makes use of only the top part of the lungs. In reality, most of the blood vessels that take up oxygen are in the bottom, neglected half. Since so much lung power is going to waste, we get less oxygen, and as a result, we're all than nature intended us to. Chest breathing also tends to upset the blood's oxygen/carbon dioxide balance and can lead to headaches, fatigue, anxiety and even panic attacks. You're also potentially suffering from sweaty palms, difficulty relaxing, heightened pain perception and general fatigue. Photos.com Or as most people call it -- a 'first date.' So how the hell are we meant to do it? It turns out that breathing is one area in which babies are much smarter than you. Babies use a deeper type of respiration called abdominal breathing, which strengthens and makes full use of their diaphragms. It's only as we grow older that we revert to the more inefficient style. Luckily, you can train your body to go back to breathing properly, and over time, you can even breathe abdominally in your sleep. Photos.com Not to be confused with snoring, which is just breathing abominably. To practice it, try to 'inflate' your stomach as you breathe in, while keeping your chest relatively still. Then contract your abdominal muscles on the exhale. Not only will this give you more oxygen per breath, it will eventually strengthen the diaphragm. A stronger diaphragm means you get more oxygen with each breath, so your brain won't need to divert any away from your muscles, meaning that you get tired less easily. Photos.com Try this now at work, and observe as people kindly give you more breathing space! OK, so maybe you can't handle pooping, breathing or much else that you'd think would come naturally. But surely just lying in bed every night is OK, right? So why the hell do you keep waking up at 3 a.m.? You lie there, wondering what the hell is wrong with you. Will I oversleep? How will I find the time to sit down and poop in the morning? Getty 'I have to remember to breathe, too. I can't deal with all this.' If this happens to you often, you're not alone. Chances are, if you mention waking up like this to your doctor, it'll be diagnosed as a 'sleep disorder,' and you'll be given one of the handed out to Americans each year. You'll pop some Ambien, only to awaken a few hours later What on earth went wrong? Getty To be fair, you couldn't have known that wasn't a real truncheon. So how the hell are we meant to do it? In this case, you're already doing it right. It's your reaction that's wrong. The idea that an uninterrupted eight hours is the only sleep pattern natural to mankind is surprisingly recent. Before someone who wasn't Thomas Edison invented the light bulb, people in areas with more than eight hours of darkness three to five hours of sleep, an hour of wakefulness and then another three to five hour nap. The hour or so of awake time was used for quiet reflection, sex, smoking and pretty much everything except staring at the wall terrified of insomnia. In fact, this small window of consciousness was renowned as the as the tranquility between the first and second sleep was known as being uniquely suited to getting up to mischief with the person lying bored beside you. Getty This isn't compulsory. In recent times, artificial light has pushed our normal bedtime back later and later, and this segmented sleep has been compressed into a single eight hours. Still, our brains are naturally wired for pre-light-bulb days. Healthy subjects were given a long artificial 'night' lasting 14 hours. They quickly reverted to the segmented pattern, waking up for an hour or two of 'peaceful wakefulness' between two three to five hour stretches. Getty By the end of the experiment, all the women were pregnant. So why do we still wake up even when we've been up until midnight watching Deadliest Warrior marathons? Well, some people tend to revert to this natural sleep cycle despite all the artificial light, especially during dark winter months. Fortunately, having this sort of technology-resistant superbrain doesn't necessarily spell disaster. According to experts, if you stay calm and allow yourself to fall back to sleep naturally rather than lying there wondering why you're awake, you usually won't see any negative effects the next day. Getty Unless you leave the TV on while you sleep. 3Having Babies Obviously, giving birth to a smaller human might take a lot more effort than breathing. But when you realize that even the idiot deer that tried to jump in front of your car last month has probably managed to produce young, you would hope that we smart modern humans are getting it really right. Today, the majority of women in America are still directed to give birth in the 'lithotomy' position, an odd pose that consists of lying flat on your back with your feet and legs raised, sometimes in stirrups. Getty Stirrups? This woman has clearly just given birth to this horse. And as if that image was not utterly horrifying enough, directed pushing (those people who stand around the mother yelling 'Push!' ) to increase perineal damage and childbirth pain while also decreasing the amount of oxygen that gets to the fetus. So how the hell are we meant to do it? Basically, the head-down, legs-in-the-air position has become standard in modern medicine mainly because it gives doctors direct and unrestricted access to your hoo-hoo. The thing is, having babies is a lot like making babies -- there's no one position that suits every situation. The World Health Organization recommends giving women the opportunity to move around during labor and change their position according to what feels right. IStockphoto The 'champagne cork' position. Bad breath is a great way to lose new friends. Nobody wants to talk to or sit next to someone whose breath is outlawed by the terms of the Geneva Conventions. So thank goodness we learned to brush our teeth so much. Well, actually, our obsessive-compulsive tooth-brushing practices lead to deteriorating oral health, including increased numbers of cavities and eventual tooth loss. Traditional wisdom, as dictated to us from a young age by school-visiting dentists with happy, anthropomorphic teeth printed on their shirts, is that we should brush twice a day, after meals. That makes sense, because you're getting rid of all those hamburger particles wedged between your teeth before they can start rotting and convert your breath into a chemical weapon. Getty 'Oh, stop being dramatic, Carl. But surprise -- you're wrong. British dentists are now recommending that people, especially small people between the ages of five and 10, not brush their teeth after every meal. The reason is that the acidity in food and beverages causes tooth enamel to soften, and brushing right after eating an acidic meal strips enamel from the teeth, leaving them vulnerable to cavities. Leaving a little food behind actually doesn't cause as much damage as your toothbrush does as it scrubs the natural protective layer off the teeth. Up yours, dentists. Studies show that than brushing. Dental floss actually removes the bacteria that clump together between your teeth, without scrubbing and stripping layers off them. But before you run to your dentist and smugly assert that Cracked told you that brushing is bad for you, brushing twice a day is generally still believed to be the best practice. But you should do it away from mealtimes to give your teeth time to recover from acid wear -- ideally, right before you eat or drink anything. And although you might instinctively prefer a hard toothbrush to really grind off those asshole bacteria, studies suggest you should use a soft brush and more than your actual teeth. So it's really more of a tooth massage. Getty And no massage is complete without a happy-ending mouthwash. The straight-backed chairs we're familiar with today have been around for thousands of years, but until recently, they were almost exclusively for We've still got words like 'chairman' and 'university chair' that show the connection between a thronelike chair and leadership. As recently as the 19th century, the default mode for the average person was a backless stool or a bench, or just plain old kneeling. Getty Or the stocks. And you guessed it -- our bodies aren't designed for the right-angled back support presented by the average chair. When we're standing up, or even sitting on something backless, our abdominal muscles are active, helping our spines support our weight. When you're sitting on a chair, these muscles relax, and suddenly your spine alone has to take the entire weight of your upper torso, like a twig holding up a bowling ball. The extra stress and can eventually lead to chronic back pain, something that's experienced by 80 percent of Americans. So how the hell are we meant to do it? Recommend 'active sitting' (which sounds about as relaxing as sleepercising) using an exercise ball, kneeling stool or something else without a high back. There are also standing desks. But if you don't want to look like a cubicle worker whose office manager reads too many furniture design magazines, there's another option: used an MRI to measure the spinal disk movement of three groups of people: one sitting, one slouching and one lying back at a 135-degree angle with their feet on the floor. The last group showed the least disk movement. By the way, this reclining position was common during the Roman Empire, including in Jesus' time. So try it at work, and tell your boss you're avoiding future sick days and deepening your religious experience. 'I bet Jesus would take off with the company credit card too!' Father, Husband, Son, Brother, University of Michigan graduate, masters degree. ‘s tenure as a coach on “” speaks for itself–he’s led three completely unique artists to the top spot in 12 seasons. Interestingly each of those wins has come four seasons apart, which statistically would mean that after Jordan Smith‘s win in Season 9, Adam is due for his fourth victory. As a mentor, Adam works best with singers who are already confident artists in their own right and can be trusted to be bold, risk-taking performers. In his current slate of artists, Adam has a handful of artists willing and able to claim the throne. Which, if any, will rise to the occasion? Take a look at our power rankings, from best to worst, for all 12 artists on Team Adam based on their blind audition performances and let us know in the comments if you think any of them have what it takes to win. Jon Mero – “Versace on the Floor” (Age: 31; Atlanta, GA) Jon is the type of artist that Adam usually does really well with on his team–he performs confidently, is self-assured and takes risks without having to be asked to. In that regard, Adam can just sit back, let Jon do his own thing and watch the votes pour in. I imagine there’s no way Adam lets Jon go home before the live shows so we’ll see whether his appearances in the Battle and Knockout rounds are on the same level as his Blind. Adam Pearce – “Hot Blooded” (Age: 31; New Orleans, LA) Adam’s personal style and music taste are the sweet spot for the show’s core audience. Time and time again we’ve seen male country-soul vocalists reach the finale, but usually they do so while a member of Blake’s team. Adam has been wanting to win with this type of artist for many seasons so it would be truly fitting if he finally does with an artist that shares his name! Whitney Fenimore – “Hold On, We’re Going Home” (Age: 28; Tulsa, OK) In terms of winning “The Voice,” I think an artist has to be a really powerful singer, whether that means they have a voice that can belt out long notes or are as energetic and undeniable as a stage presence as Chris Blue was last season. Whitney does not strike me as powerful, but what she lacks there she makes up for in pure talent and what I sense is a willingness to experiment outside of her comfort zone. Brandon Brown – “Georgia on My Mind” (Age: 19; The Bronx, NY) I find Brandon’s reserved nature really appealing because it suggests that he’s serious about his craft and thoughtful about his decisions. “Georgia on My Mind” was a rather safe song for Brandon to sing, given his talent, so I can’t wait to see him branch out into something more current in the next few rounds to show that he is just as good working with contemporary music. 5. Emily Luther – “Summertime” (Age: 24; Woonsocket, RI) We’ve seen Adam be a champion of female artists who have an appreciation for traditional jazz music so Emily has found the perfect home on his team. There’s no arguing that Emily is a great vocalist, but whether or not her genre is one that “The Voice” audience falls hard enough for to vote as the winner is another story. Hannah Mrozak – “Starving” (Age: 18; Richfield, WI) Personally, I like Hannah a lot, but as a pop artist how successful she’ll be on the show is entirely dependent on her song choice. The champion she most resembles is Alisan Porter who used song choice expertly, complementing her vocal ability with lyrics that felt personal, raw and passionate that allowed the audience to believe in her as an artist. Adam is usually good about letting artists be themselves, but I think Hannah might require more direction than others. Michael Kight – “Sugar” (Age: 25; Dublin, GA) You can see during Michael’s audition of Adam’s own song that Adam was taking the question of whether or not to turn around for him very seriously. But when Adam finally hits the button and sees Michael, an unarguably attractive guy not unlike Adam himself, that he’s happy because he knows exactly how appealing Michael will be to a bulk of the show’s audience. Talent-wise, I think Michael has room to grow and there’s no better coach than Adam who will know exactly how to foster the best aspects of his voice into something good. Anthony Alexander – “Redbone” (Age: 17; Fontana, CA) Anthony reminds me a lot of last season’s Mark Isaiah who was also a part of Team Adam. The key to Mark’s success was staying in his lane as a young male artist and choosing songs that appeal to that demographic’s audience. Doing so he was able to save himself from elimination on the live episodes. If Adam develops a similar plan for Anthony, keeping the focus on his target audience, then he could do fairly well. Dave Crosby – “I Will Follow You Into the Dark” (Age: 30; Seattle, WA) Because of his daughter’s YouTube fame, Dave has a brand awareness already that not many of the other contestants have. The problem with that is I think people will remain more interested in his daughter’s voice than his own, which honestly I’m mostly indifferent about. Gary Carpentier – “Home” (Age: 26; Liverpool, NY) Last season, Chris Blue was the last blind audition and Alicia Keys was able to ride that wave with him all the way to the end. This season’s final audition from Gary was far less mind-blowing than Chris’ so I don’t expect him to win, but 11. Brandon Showell – “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” (Age: 26; Virginia Beach, VA) Unfortunately for Brandon, Adam has a few other artists on his team similar to his style, but with more talent. His blind audition may have earned three chair turns from the judges, but his song choice wasn’t great and his personality not as memorable as it needs to be in order to stand out from the pack. Dylan Gerard – “Say You Won’t Let Go” (Age: 28; Macclenny, FL) Whew forgive my frankness, but Dylan’s audition was one of the least memorable of the season. He’s awkward, unexciting and compared to his teammates the ability just isn’t up to par. Calling it now, he’s gone in the next round regardless of who Adam pits him against in the Battles. (English, French dialogue) Official Site: With all due respect to Christopher Nolan, no filmmaker has captured the evacuation of Dunkirk better than, who evoked the sheer scale of England’s finest hour via a five-minute tracking shot in “Atonement.” Now, with “Darkest Hour,” Wright returns to show the other side of the operation. Set during the crucial early days of Winston Churchill’s first term as prime minister, this talky yet stunningly cinematic history lesson balances the great orator’s public triumphs with more vulnerable private moments of self-doubt, elevating the inner workings of British government into a compelling piece of populist entertainment. Whereas Nolan’s “Dunkirk” so thrillingly illustrated the military rescue at Dunkirk, all but banishing Churchill to a newspaper article read aloud at the end of the film, “Darkest Hour” spends nearly every scene at the prime minister’s side — except for the first couple, during which Churchill is dramatically absent, represented only by the bowler hat left behind in his empty seat in the House of Commons. Wright introduces Churchill a few minutes later, sitting in the dark of his own bedroom, illuminated only by the match he strikes to light his signature cigar. The face that appears belongs to, all but unrecognizable beneath Kazuhiro Tsuji’s jowly prosthetic makeup and thinning white hair. Upon closer examination, the eyes are unmistakably Oldman’s: alert, intense and aggressively intelligent. Release date:November 22, 2017 (limited). Studio:Focus Features. Director:Joe Wright. MPAA Rating:PG-13 (for. During the early days of World War II, with the fall of France imminent, Britain faces its darkest hour as the threat of invasion looms. As the seemingly unstoppable Nazi forces advance, and with the Allied army. During the early days of World War II, the fate of Western Europe hangs on the newly-appointed British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, who must decide whether to. The resulting performance is unlike anything Oldman has previously delivered, in part because this time, the character is one we presume to know so well from archival footage, photographs and radio recordings. And yet, the master actor rejects mere mimicry, constructing from the ground up a full-bodied and impressively nuanced version of the historical figure. More Reviews Beginning on May 9, 1940, and ticking away the days to Operation Dynamo in bold block letters, “Darkest Hour” begins as France and Belgium are on the brink of surrendering to Hitler. Parliament has lost confidence in Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain (Ronald Pickup), who has terminal cancer and tenders his resignation directly to King George (Ben Mendelsohn). Churchill wasn’t his party’s first choice, but he was the only conservative of whom the opposition approved, in part because he had flip-flopped between both parties over the previous decade. That flexibility was one of his greatest assets — or so believes his wife Clementine (Kristin Scott Thomas, a strong force in a few small but impactful scenes) — and the reason he was able to build a coalition government in this time of crisis. And yet, Churchill was also a man of conviction, and the movie paints him as the lone politician willing to defy Hitler and to declare war “at any cost” if necessary, when so many wanted to seek peace — or were otherwise unwilling to repeat the bloodshed of the Great War that had cost the U.K. So dearly just two decades earlier. Arriving at a moment when screens are virtually saturated with Churchill portrayals — ranging from John Lithgow’s turn on “The Crown” to theatrical offerings starring Brian Cox and Michael Gambon — “Darkest Hour” is by far the most cinematic, this despite Anthony McCarten’s script, so eloquently theatrical that it conceivably could have been performed on a blank stage. Wright is both a virtuoso filmmaker and a natural showman, interpreting the screenplay as no other director could have possibly imagined it. Since his very first feature, 2005’s “Pride & Prejudice,” he has been reinventing the rules of how period pieces ought to be shot, and “Darkest Hour” is no different. Dialing things back from his relatively garish adaptations of “Anna Karenina” and “Pan,” this more elegant film’s style brilliantly marries the classical with the cutting-edge, relying on regular composer Dario Marianelli and his swirling, march-like motifs for much of its energy. Working for the first time with DP Bruno Delbonnel, Wright frames the House of Commons from angles that suggest 18th-century painting, and pushes the contrast to such an extreme that the look — with its deep shadows and near-blinding highlights — recalls black-and-white films of the era. At the same time, he innovates, breaking from the walk-and-talk political-drama template introduced by “The West Wing” (from which “House of Cards” and so many others still borrow) in favor of a more dynamic, omniscient camera, with which he navigates the halls of power. Apart from a few high-concept overhead views of the front itself (including one especially stunning shot in which bombs erupt on a stretch of terrain that seamlessly fades into the corpse of a fallen soldier), “Darkest Hour” takes place in an entirely different sphere of action, its locations ranging from the bunker-like cabinet war rooms beneath Westminster Palace to Churchill’s own private residence — all impressively recreated without drawing undue attention to the production design. The idea here is that the audience has complete, unrestricted access to Churchill during these critical days, at one point even following him into a private room from which he calls U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt, whose hands are tied by recent neutrality agreements. Churchill may be prime minister, but his power is blocked by the leaders of both parties, who are scheming to undermine him, lest he agree to talk peace with Italy’s Benito Mussolini. Meanwhile, Churchill has self-confidence issues of his own — and in these he is supported by the young typist (Lily James) to whom he dictates his various letters and speeches. Unfortunately, this particular chapter in history has been so thoroughly dramatized in recent years that many of the finest moments in “Darkest Hours” echo elements from other films. For example, “Churchill” (released earlier this summer) offers the wife and secretary characters meatier roles, and a key scene in which the prime minster goes on the radio to address the nation too closely resembles “The King’s Speech” (although it should be said that Mendelson’s portrayal of George VI improves upon Colin Firth’s in some ways). Even so, familiarity does nothing to diminish the power of Churchill’s well-known speeches — to the extent that some audience members may find themselves mouthing the words in unison, as James’ character does from the sidelines. And McCarten creates an entirely original, if borderline-corny sequence set in the London Underground, during which Churchill interfaces directly with his constituents, regardless of race or class. His actual policies were far less progressive, but for the sake of this stirring bit of political revisionism, it swells the heart to see Churchill bonding with the black man who finishes his Shakespearean quotation. In actuality, Churchill wrote his own history, and here, Wright and McCarten have re-drafted it even more emphatically in his favor. But Oldman makes him human, and his performance gives us ample room to reevaluate the iconic figure. Film Review: 'Darkest Hour' Reviewed at Telluride Film Festival, Sept. The feeling I get out of optimizing and tweaking a build until there is no more performance to squeeze out of it is just one of many reasons I continue to play Diablo on a regular basis. I'm always looking at how I can possibly improve my gear, skills, or play-style; however, if you are anything like me, you know that you need a break from the cutting edge every once in a while. Sometimes, you just need to laugh maniacally at your screen and have some fun. Jul 28, 2000. The Paperback of the Diablo Guardian by Xavier Velasco at Barnes & Noble. FREE Shipping on $25 or more! Doesnt Have Item. One of my favorite things to do in Diablo is to come up with dumb builds. These are builds that put a massive grin on my face, but they don't need to be very good or serve any specific purpose. They are often centered around one or two ideas, and their only requirement is that they make me have a hysterical amount of fun. Not every build in the game needs to be able to clear greater rift 120+ solo with time to spare. There is plenty of room in the game for builds that are simply fun to play, and put a smile on your face. Today's build spotlight for the Mad King's Laboratory is a build I made with only one goal for my Necromancer: I wanted to go fast! I was tired of being left behind in rifts, so I needed to shed my old identity as the brooding corpse-raising-pale-skinned man who didn't socialize well in Tristram because of the horrible smell of undeath around me. I needed to become someone else, I needed to become something else. I needed to become the Flash. Unofficial Diablo community forums, Class Builder, and much, much more! The Build: Big things sometimes have small beginnings, and this build began with the Steuart's Greaves---a pair of Necromancer boots that increases your movement speed by 100% after using Blood Rush. I incorporated the boots in my Necromancer Torment XIII speed farming build that I call the. While using these boots, I was suddenly much quicker in rifts at the expense of a little extra damage; although, I realized it wasn't enough. I wanted to be even faster. I shifted my entire focus on not necessarily being good, but being fast. As it turns out, it's possible to do both. This build is quite impressive for clearing Torment XIII rifts quickly, finishing bounties, or even power leveling a friend. Your toughness is reliant on picking up gold to boost your armor with Goldwrap, but if you want to do low level greater rifts you can easily switch it out for Dayntee's Binding. All of your damage is coming from Bone Armor and Corpse Explosion. Keep an eye on your Golem, since he will be dropping a corpse every second for to you explode with the use of the Moribund Gauntlets. If you ever find yourself needing a corpse immediately and your Golem is too busy trying to kill a lone enemy in the corner of your screen, just use your Blood Rush to drop a usable corpse at your feet! This is fairly easy to gear for, but there may be a working variation of this build that uses the Legacy of Nightmares ring set and ancient pieces of the gold gear---such as Goldskin and Kymbo's Gold. In fact, you should feel free to adjust anything you see in this build in order to fit your needs. You can easily drop some speed in favor of more damage, or vice-versa! But just remember, the entire goal of this build is not to be good, but to be fast! • Galvanizing Ward • Audacity • Unstable Anomaly • Illusionist Taking advantage of the buffs given to items that support channeling skills and Meteor, we currently see the Tal Rasha Meteor build leading the way for Wizards. This setup delivers disgustingly large amounts of damage under the right circumstances. Previously, Tal Rasha's had a place for Wizards when it was mixed with the Vyr's set, but now it truly gets to stand on its own with a high clearing Greater Rift build that should stay competitive deep into Season 12. Immortal King Hammer of the Ancients Barbarian. • Bloodthirst • Rampage • Ruthless • Berserker Rage Resurfacing as a blast from the Season 4 past, the updates to Immortal Kings and all of the items that support Hammer of the Ancients have seen this fan favorite rise to the top. HOTA once lived a life that was best paired with a support Monk, giving it the healing necessary to survive, but in the current season, this build is tough enough to go it alone and take on high-level Greater Rifts. However, unless you plan to be true to Hammer of the Ancients all season long, make sure you keep an eye on the Furious Charge and Whirlwind setups, as they will also be clearing competitively high Greater Rifts. Sunwuko Wave of Light Monk. • Near Death Experience • Beacon of Ytar • Harmony • Seize the Initiative Looking to be simultaneously the most popular and flashiest build currently running around Season 12, the bell tolls for all Monks. Sunwuko Wave of Light has become a devastating way to not only clear the highest of Greater Rifts, but also helps Monks contest the crown of fastest Torment 13 Nephalem rift clearer. With a couple of variations currently existing for this build, it will be interesting to see if any alternatives arise to challenge this ranged destroyer deeper into the season. Pestilence Corpse Lance Necromancer. • Draw Life • Spreading Malediction • Stand Alone • Final Service We knew that the top Necromancer build would be a Corpse Lance setup; we just didn't know which set it would revolve around. So far, it looks like it's out with the old and in with the new, due to the amazingly high single-target damage output of the Pestilence set. Not only is this the chart topper for solo Necromancer play, but current 4-player Greater Rift Guardian killing also takes up the Pestilence set for its Corpse Lance deliveries. With the highest Greater Rift clear across any class currently belonging to the Pestilence Corpse Lance Necromancer, look for this set to only become more dominant deeper into the season. Akkhan Condemn Crusader. • Heavenly Strength • Holy Cause • Finery • Indestructible To celebrate this phenomenon, we need to go even deeper into the seasonal history books. Remember Season 1? The Crusader didn't have too many choices back then, so Condemn was overpowered by default. Now with some of the most diverse options ever available to the class, Condemn has finally returned as a decimating AOE powerhouse. Rolling through Greater Rifts is a harrowing affair, as this squishy build lives and dies with one right or wrong move. However, the damage output in high density scenarios is exquisite. We will see whether Condemn stays on top as its damage ceiling is phenomenal, but other builds such as Blessed Shield or even the recently dethroned Blessed Hammers may have something to say about the top spot. Shadows Impale Demon Hunter. • Awareness • Numbing Traps • Cull the Weak • Leech Put a bookmark here to revisit Demon Hunter builds later in the season. Shadows Impale has famously been one of the fastest to start builds due to the addition of the legendary power to Holy Point Shot and the ease with which one can craft a Karlei's Point. When gearing up is that simple and the setup deals enormous amounts of damage with little need for optimization, it makes perfect sense to see this build dominating the Leaderboards early in Season 12. However, Demon Hunters seem to be one of the more evenly balanced classes among their set buffs, so don't be surprised if Multishot, Grenades, or even Natalya's comes knocking in a few weeks for those high rankings. Arachyr Firebats Witch Doctor. • Creeping Death • Confidence Ritual • Grave Injustice • Spirit Vessel Last but not least. A longtime meta stronghold has reclaimed its spot. For two shining seasons, Legacy of Nightmares Spirit Barrage sent Arachyr Firebats packing, but now, due to the set and item buffs of Patch 2.6.1, it would seem the Witch Doctor is spinning (bats) to win again. Witch Doctors have also continued to secure their placement in the 4-player Greater Rift meta as the trash killer with this same Arachyr Firebats playstyle. Early reports have noted that the server optimizations done for 2.6.1 seem to have eased the laggy woes of groups that utilized the strong area damage output of this build, but we will keep an eye on this as groups push higher and enemies hang around for longer. That's a wrap for our early look at Season 12's most popular and powerful builds. Don't see a build you're playing up here? Think there's a build that will surprise everyone and take the Leaderboards by storm? We want to hear about it! Hop into the comments and let us know which builds you're enjoying this season. About the Study Women in the Workplace 2017 is a comprehensive study of the state of women in corporate America. This research is part of a long-term partnership between LeanIn.Org and McKinsey & Company to give organizations the information they need to promote women’s leadership and foster gender equality. This year 222 companies employing more than 12 million people shared their pipeline data and completed a survey of HR practices. In addition, more than 70,000 employees completed a survey designed to explore their experiences regarding gender, opportunity, career, and work-life issues. To our knowledge, this makes Women in the Workplace the largest study of its kind. Women remain underrepresented at every level in corporate America, despite earning more college degrees than men for thirty years and counting. There is a pressing need to do more, and most organizations realize this: company commitment to gender diversity is at an all-time high for the third year in a row. Despite this commitment, progress continues to be too slow—and may even be stalling. One of the most powerful reasons for this is a simple one: we have blind spots when it comes to diversity, and we can’t solve problems that we don’t see or understand clearly. Women fall behind early and continue to lose ground with every step Women remain significantly underrepresented in the corporate pipeline. From the outset, fewer women than men are hired at the entry level. At every subsequent step, the representation of women further declines, and women of color face an even more dramatic drop-off at senior levels. This disparity is not due to company-level attrition or lack of interest: women and men stay at their companies and ask for promotions at similar rates. The workplace is especially challenging for women of color The intersection of race and gender shapes women’s experiences in meaningful ways. Women of color face more obstacles and a steeper path to leadership, from receiving less support from managers to getting promoted more slowly. This affects how they view the workplace and their opportunities for advancement. Overall, two patterns are clear: compared to white women, things are worse for women of color, and they are particularly difficult for Black women. Only ($17.0 million) and ($16.4 million) have topped it, while it is double what earned just last weekend. This represents the biggest previews for a movie directed by a woman, surpassing and I'm very happy this film took away a record from Fifty Shades. So what does this tell us about the film’s box office chances? Sadly, not much. It is right were most people were expecting, so I don’t feel the need to adjust our, but there are a lot of unknown factors that could affect the weekend number. Firstly, the film’s are 93% positive and the word-of-mouth should be just as strong. However, the Fangirl Effect could frontload the film’s box office numbers, thus hurting its legs. There have not been enough female led superhero movies to come out to make a judgment at this time. At the moment, $100 million seems safe, but that could change this time tomorrow when the Friday estimates come in and that number could drop to $90 million or rise to $120 million. Hopefully it is the latter. May 11th, 2017 There are two wide releases coming out this week, and. However, will likely destroy them at the box office. The real question is whether or not the top three films this year will out-earn the three films from this weekend. At the beginning of the month, I thought that would happen, but now I’m not so sure. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 missed expectations last weekend and King Arthur: Legend of the Sword and Snatched haven’t seen their buzz grow like most new releases do. I don’t think 2017 will get crushed like it did last weekend, but I also don’t think it will end its mini-losing streak either. May 11th, 2017 remained in first place on the international chart with $123.8 million in 55 markets for totals of $282.6 million and $429.1 million. The film is already ahead of the worldwide totals of a couple of alumni, and. The film opened in first place in a trio of major markets this past weekend: China, South Korea, and Russia. Its biggest opening came in China, no surprise there, where it earned $48.56 million over the weekend for a total opening of $49.47 million, including limited previews. It earned $12.79 million in 1,370 screens over the weekend in Russia. The film earned $6.92 million on 1,218 screens in South Korea over the weekend for a total opening of $13.20 million. In each of these markets, Vol 2 showed strong growth compared to the original. In fact, Vol 2 earned more during its opening weekend than the original earned in total ($11.0 million). At this pace, the film will have no trouble matching the original worldwide and its legs will determine if it can reach $1 billion. May 8th, 2017 For the eighth year in a row, a movie started the summer blockbuster season. This time around, it was, which earned $146.51 million, or roughly 75% of the total box office of $194 million. That figure is nearly double the box office from, an increase of 97%, to be more precise. Unfortunately, this is also 19% lower than the same weekend when dominated the chart. 2017 is still ahead of 2016, but the gap has narrowed to 4.5% at $3.88 billion to $3.71 billion. May 4th, 2017 The summer blockbuster season unofficially begins this weekend with the release of. There are no other films opening wide this week, so it will dominate the chart like few films are able to. In fact, the film’s only real competition is, which opened this weekend. There’s very little chance Vol 2 will start as fast as Civil War started, but it could have better legs. I think 2017 will lose the year-over-year comparison this weekend, but the rest of the month should be better. May 1st, 2017 The box office was a wild one with two limited releases in the top five, and. Remained in first place with $19.94 million, which is better than. Unfortunately, the overall box office was still weak down 8.3% from to just $99 million. Worse still, this is 8.9% lower than the same weekend. 2017’s lead over 2016 took a bit of a hit, but still has a 5.1% or $180 million lead, $3.66 billion to $3.48 billion. April 27th, 2017 The last weekend in April is usually a terrible weekend and this year is no different. There is only one truly wide release this week,, although has a shot at the top five. There are also two films opening in approximately 500 theaters hoping to sneak into the top ten: and. However, while it seems like a busy week for new releases, will easily remain in first place. Apr 12, 2017. Film Review: 'Infinity Baby'. The Marvel Cinematic Universe will have its pinnacle moment when Avengers: Infinity War rolls around in May of 2018. Less than a year from the film's release, very. In fact, the top five this week could be nearly identical to the top five last week, with The Circle being the only nearly guaranteed new addition. This weekend, led the way with $44 million, while the biggest new release was with just under $10 million. The new releases might be stronger this time around, but there’s almost no way 2017 will be able to compete with The Jungle Book. April 26th, 2017 is living fast, but plummeting just as fast down 64% to $158.1 million on 19,757 screens in 65 territories for totals of $745.03 million and $908.34 million. The film is now the biggest hit of 2017 on the and is behind only on the 2017. The film’s biggest opening of the past weekend came in Poland where it earned $2.7 million on 187 screens, which is the best opening for the franchise in that market. Its biggest market overall continues to be China, where it added $55.28 million over the weekend for a two-week total of $321.65 million. The is the second biggest box office for a Hollywood release in China, behind only, which earned $390.87 million there. April 25th, 2017 As, dominated the box office chart. It held up a little better than expected with $38.41 million over the weekend; however, this was still over 60% lower than its opening weekend and the overall weekend fell over $60 million or 36% from for a total of $107 million. A lot of the blame can be pushed onto the new releases, as none of them earned a spot in the top five. Was the best of the new releases earning sixth place with $4.79 million. Year-over-year, 2017 was 16% lower than 2016, but fortunately, 2017 still has an impressive $200 million lead over 2016 at $3.53 billion to $3.33 billion. April 23rd, 2017 A decline of 61% compared to its opening weekend still leaves the big winner at the box office this weekend, with the five new wide releases combined making less than half the $38.7 million it will earn on its second weekend, according to ’s weekend estimate. The film’s domestic gross will end the weekend at about $163.6 million. As of last night, it has reached $636.3 million internationally, and it should end the weekend with $752.4 million overseas, for a global total of $916 million as of Sunday. $327.4 million of that will have come from China, where Fate is clocking up another $67 million this weekend. April 20th, 2017 Late April is one of the traditional dumping grounds and this week is truly living down to that reputation. There are five new releases that have at least a shot at the top ten, but none of them have a shot at becoming midlevel hits. Is the widest new release of the week and will likely be the biggest hit, but it very likely won’t be the. And are in a close battle for the for the week. Meanwhile, and are just hoping to avoid opening below the Mendoza Line. I think earning a theater average above $2,000 is overly optimistic for either film. There’s a lot of competition, but nearly all of it is terrible, so will have no trouble repeating in first place. Furthermore, both and will likely remain in the top five, meaning there’s not a lot of room for the other films. This weekend, earned just over $60 million over the weekend, while opened with close to $20 million. There’s no way 2017 will be able to match this one-two punch. April 19th, 2017 dominated in the international chart with $433.2 million in 63 markets. This is the biggest international weekend of all time, beating the previous record holder,, by over $100 million. Interestingly, both of these films were released. Furthermore, the film has already topped the international totals of all but the two more recent installments in the franchise. On the downside, the international opening weekend record isn’t the most prestigious record, because it depends a lot of how wide a release a film has. For instance, The Fate of the Furious opened in all but four markets this past weekend and of the remaining markets, only Japan is a significant market. The film has the number one overall international weekend, but only broke weekend records in 20 of the 63 individual markets and only one of those markets could be considered a major market. That one market was China. April 18th, 2017 As, dominated the box office this, earning nearly a 60% share of the total box office. It did miss predictions, however, with “just” $98.79 million. This is the curse of great expectations. Overall, the box office rose 40% from, reaching $167 million. However, this was 5.1% lower than the same weekend. Had The Fate of the Furious matched expectations, then 2017 would have had a 5% lead over last year. Year-to-date, 2017 has pulled in $3.37 billion and has a 7.2% lead over 2016. That will shrink as last year’s ’s legs will undoubtedly be better than The Fate of the Furious’s legs, but I don’t think 2017 will fall behind 2016 any time soon. April 16th, 2017 is, as expected, posting great opening numbers domestically, with projecting a $100.2 million opening weekend, but the real news this weekend is the record breaking in international markets. Helped by a gigantic $190 million in China—the biggest-ever three-day weekend in that territory— Fate is headed for an overseas debut of $432.2 million, according to the studio. That’s easily the biggest international weekend of all time, beating ’s $316.7 million. It’s also ahead of the inflation-adjusted international opening for, which earned $314 million on its first weekend internationally, roughly equivalent to $375 million today. April 13th, 2017 The headline isn’t 100% accurate, because let’s face it, there is no competition this week. Is the only wide release of the week ( was dropped to select cities.) and it will beat the nearest competition likely by over $100 million. It will likely earn more than the rest of the box office combined will earn. There could be a close race for second place between and, but for the most part, there will be no mystery at the box office this weekend. As for this weekend, it was also really one-sided. Opened with $103.26 million, while was a distant second with $20.24 million. The Fate of the Furious will need to match this one-two punch, or at least come close, for 2017 to continue building on its lead over 2016. I’m cautiously optimistic. April 13th, 2017 rose to first place with $41.3 million in 57 markets for a two-week total of $92.8 million. The film was aided by a first place debut in China. It earned $21.15 million over the weekend for a total opening of $21.49 million. It also opened in Japan with $3.2 million over the weekend. The film’s international running tally is nearly triple its domestic one and that spread will only grow. This will help the somewhat; however, it would need to make over $250 million internationally to have any real shot at breaking even. April 11th, 2017 It was a good at the box office, considering the time of year, but this was almost entirely due to holdovers. Earned $26.36 million, which was within a rounding of our, while was relatively close behind. This meant the best new release,, only managed third place. Furthermore, it wasn’t even close to second place. Overall, the box office fell 30% from. More importantly, it was 14% higher than the same weekend. Year-to-date, 2017 has pulled in $3.15 billion becoming the fastest year to reach $3 billion. It is also 6.4% or $190 million ahead of last year’s pace. It is still early, but 2017 is starting to build up a lead that will act as a cushion when it inevitably hits a soft patch. April 9th, 2017 will score another win at the box office this weekend, with predicting a total of $26.3 million for the weekend, down 48% from its debut, and $89.4 million to date. That’s a remarkably strong second weekend, considering that will be down virtually the same proporation—45%—in its fourth weekend. ’s blockbuster will do $25 million for a cume of $432 million so far domestically. With $545.1 million internationally, the film now has $977.4 million worldwide, and will pass the billion dollar mark this week. April 7th, 2017 There was an upset during Thursday’s previews, as actually led the way with $600,000. However, demographics suggest it won’t remain in the lead for long. This is still not a great start, but it is nearly perfectly in line with. The film’s rose a little to 42% positive, but this still won’t help its legs. Look for an opening weekend of $10 million, more or less. April 6th, 2017 It is the first weekend of April and there are two and a half films opening wide this week. The widest of these is, but is going to hurt it at the box office. Is aiming to be a sleeper hit, but its will likely get in the way of that. Meanwhile, is opening in barely more than 1,000 theaters and it is aiming for the churchgoing crowd and no one else. On the positive side, it is Easter next weekend, so it should have good legs. Unfortunately for the new releases, it looks like will have a relatively easy time repeating in first place, while will be close behind in second. This weekend, opened in first place with $23.59 million, while was right behind with $23.36 million. This week we should have at least two films top that, perhaps even three if Smurfs: The Lost Village is on the high end of expectations. 2017 should continue to add to its lead over 2016. April 5th, 2017 completed the threepeat earning first place on the international chart with $66.5 million in 55 markets for totals of $480.8 million and $874.1 million. The film had no major market openings this past weekend, but it did do really well in a number of mid-level markets. Malaysia was the best earning $2.4 million, which is the second best opening in that market this year. Earned $2.6 million during its debut there. The Netherlands managed $1.8 million over the weekend for a total opening of $2.3 million, which is the best opening of the year so far. Likewise, it had the best openings of 2017 in both New Zealand ($1.4 million over the weekend and $1.7 million including previews) and in Chile ($1.5 million / $1.6 million). It will soon become the first film of to reach $1 billion worldwide and the 14th film from to reach that milestone. April 4th, 2017 Wide releases again dominated the theater average chart taking two of the top three spots. This includes, which led the way with $13,305. The only limited release in the $10,000 club was with $10,823 in its lone theater. Last week’s champ,, was right behind with an average of $10,789. April 4th, 2017 beat and earned first place with $50.20 million over the. The strong competition pushed into second place, but it nearly hit $400 million and it is on pace for $500 million, so I wouldn’t feel too bad for the film. On the other hand, you can feel bad for, because an opening of just $18.68 million on a $110 million production budget is a disaster. Overall, the box office rose 16% from reaching $169 million. Compared to, the box office rose 28%, which is very impressive. Year-to-date, 2017 has pulled in $2.98 billion, putting it 6.1% or $170 million ahead of 2016’s pace. We are far enough into the year that a lead this big is significant. That doesn’t mean 2017 is guaranteed to come out ahead, but this is certainly reason to be optimistic. April 2nd, 2017 A great marketing campaign and a beautifully-timed opening will most likely combine to give a win at the box office this weekend, according to studio estimates released on Sunday. Victory isn’t completely assured, because the margin is fairly slim: Boss Baby is headed for $49 million, per ’s Sunday morning estimate, while is expecting $47.5 million for. Both studios expect Beast to win on Sunday, so the eventual winner will depend on today’s figures, but it would be a real surprise if the order changes when final numbers come in tomorrow. March 31st, 2017 led the way on Thursday night with $1.8 million in advance earnings. This was better than the $1.2 million managed, and on par with what ’s $1.8 million earlier this year. However, Get Out had legs that most movies would kill for, so it is not a good predictor., which started out with $2.2 million on Thursday night, is arguably a much better comparison. Granted, John Wick earned much, but it was also a sequel and those tend to be a lot more front-loaded. Using this film as a guide gives Ghost in the Shell a $25 million opening weekend, which is well below our. This isn’t a disaster, but it is a weak start for a film that cost $110 million to make. March 30th, 2017 Two new wide releases attempt to dethrone this weekend, but I wouldn’t bet on either of them doing it. Earlier this week, it looked like was a potential $100 million hit. Then its collapsed., on the other hand, started with, but its buzz is growing despite this. This weekend, the best new release was, which opened with $7.6 million, and 2017 is in an excellent position to gain ground as a result. Granted, the top film that weekend was with over $50 million and no film this week will match that, but the top three films last year earned just over $80 million, while the top three films this year should earn more than $100 million. March 30th, 2017 remained in first place on the international chart with $119.2 million in 50 markets for totals of $373.3 million and $692.3 million. The film had two major market openings this past weekend scoring first place in Australia with $10.02 million on 706 screens, including previews. It also topped the chart in France with $7.9 million over the weekend, $8.4 million including previews. Its biggest market overall was the U.K., where it added $15.41 million in 636 theaters over the weekend for a two-week total of $49.82 million. At the end of the weekend, ’s share of the worldwide box office was just over $300 million, so unless the movie cost more to advertise than it did to make, it has broken even. Furthermore, even if the film had no more major markets left to open in, it would be on pace to reach $1 billion to $1.1 billion worldwide. With Japan and a few more smaller markets left, it could top $1.2 billion. March 27th, 2017 Our for was higher than average, but even we underestimated the film’s box office numbers. It fell just 48% to $90.43 million, which was more than double the second place film,. This one-two punch helped the overall box office earn $202 million, but this was 23% lower than. It was also 20% lower than the same weekend last year. Granted, this weekend last year was the weekend debuted, so a decline like this was expected. Year-to-date, 2017 has earned $2.75 billion, putting it 6.7% or $170 million ahead of last year’s pace. March 23rd, 2017 There are only two wide releases next weekend, as has been dropped to limited release. Both and have shots at $100 million in total. I don’t think both of them will get there, but both at least have a shot. If we assume both films have an equal shot at $100 million, Ghost in the Shell would still likely get off to a faster start, as it is an action film vs. A family film. Because of this, it is the best choice for the target film in this week’s box office prediction contest. In order to win, one must simply predict the opening weekend box office number for. April 1st is next Saturday, so we are starting our April Fools contests this week. Two of our winners will get movies from our prize pool, while one will be chosen at random to be the fool and receive an HD-DVD release. Whoever comes the closest to predicting the film's opening 3-day weekend box office (Friday to Sunday), without going over, will be a potential winner of two previously reviewed movies, or the winner of the Fool’s Prize. Whoever comes the closest to predicting the film's opening 3-day weekend box office (Friday to Sunday), without going under, will also be a potential winner of two previously reviewed movies, or the winner of the Fool’s Prize. Finally, we will be choosing an entrant from the group of people who haven't won, or haven't won recently, and they will be the final potential winner of two previously reviewed movies, or the winner of the Fool’s Prize. Entries must be received by 10 a.m., Pacific Time on Friday to be eligible, so don't delay! March 1st, 2017 was an okay month. The films that missed expectations were mostly balanced by the films that were pleasant surprises. Unfortunately, last was amazing as dominated the chart, so 2017 has fallen further behind 2016 and 2016’s lead is now about $100 million. It is not so bad that a good March won’t help 2017 back into the lead. Will that happen? We have some good news and some bad news. Good news: Every week there is one movie that has at least a shot at $100 million. Two of them, and, could reach $200 million or a lot more. Bad News: last, both and earned more than $300 million. That’s a really powerful one-two punch and I don’t think we can replicate that this time around. On the other hand, last March, the third best film of the month was, while there were four films that were expected to open wide that earned less than $10 million at the box office. 2017 likely won’t be as good at the top, but I also don’t think it will have as many bombs either. If reaches the very high end of expectations, then 2017 could even close the gap with 2016 entirely. I’ll be happy getting halfway there. February 14th, 2017. |
